About me

I have been collecting beads my entire life. The sounds of bead hitting bead takes me right back. I would sit for hours with my Grandmother's jewelry box on my lap; untangling necklaces. This was always a labor of love.

Now I wait at night until my house is quiet and open the packages I've received in the mail, from all ends of the earth. In the palm of my hands there sits an ancient Tibetan turquoise, amber (that still has a scent of Yak on it), coral or silver bead the size of a walnut. Stunning. They are not just objects. They are pieces of someone's history; with a story, a past. This gorgeous bead has been in some mother's hand across the world from me. Perhaps in an amazing ceremony? It's hundreds, thousands of years old and has only become more beautiful with time.

I am self taught. I collect colors wherever I am. A luminous butterfly, a perfect muddy puddle; anything that catches my eye. I saw a quilt in a catalog once and recreated the color scheme in a necklace design.

Designing jewelry is a passion for me and I hope that you feel that love and energy in your special pieces.

Another passion I enjoy is writing. I am a published author. I have written several books and magazine articles on disordered eating. You are welcome to read excerpts of my book The Healing (true tales of a food addict).
